BioEver see a woman who was somewhere between chaos and pure brilliance? Well, aside from the teen witch who isn't named Sabrina or the once bitchy cheerleader turned vampire loving part demon..or the once cheerleader turned vampire loving head of a slightly elite demon fighting force, okay. So dealing with chaos and brilliance wouldn't be a unique ability, but the fact that she could do it and still call upon the history of the Watchers while smiling was certainly something to marvel at. It was the smile really, and the fact that she got the jokes.
Niklas Meredith Thompson-Wright wasn't born to money, nor was she born to poverty. Her parents were simple people who did what they had to do to make sure their daughter didn't end up working in the same shop that her mother did or behind the same desk her father did. They never demanded anything beyond her abilities, but they were always wishing she didn't have such a penchant for the States and for its pop culture. They also didn't care for her hint of obsession with the occult. But, they accepted it when her scholarly work paid for her stint in the States to study and when she showed no hurry to get back home by taking a job as a librarian in Texas.
No one really expected much out of the South other than Ricean girly boys or maybe even a few of the Poppy heads who wanted to nibble on each other. The Watchers were slightly surprised when they discovered a librarian who had translated two rarer finds hidden among the rare books in one of UTA's libraries, and that the translations spoke of the one. Of course, the "girl" had no idea what she was translating, but Niks decision to put these texts up for discussion in a literary journal ended their waffling on whether or not to invite the librarian to the hollowed halls and tomes of the Watchers.
Skip a few years of learning to fight evil, tempers, and sleep, Niks was sent away to begin translating one of the many "the world's going to end." Amusingly enough, she was tapped by the same group who sent her away to be often times an over glorified clerk to answer the need of the "true" slayer, if Buffy could called that. It seemed that they needed more help handling the awaked slayers than was anticipated; either the Watchers believed Niks could help, was right for the job, or they were out to get a little laugh at the expense of both Buffy and Niks.
No one knew what was to come of this new assignment, certainly not the Watcher, but karma, fate, destiny, or even the chaos theory had decided that the sweet, lovable, and often opinionated, if it could be called such, female was something just a little more. She had a link to one of those in Cleveland, and that link had history. What did that mean? It meant that Niks had a personal history that spanned not just her life but all those lives before her, giving her vast amounts of knowledge that no normal human, not that she'd ever really been called that, should have. She was a living textbook, for lack of a better word, but as of yet, she had no index nor glossary, even lacked proper pagination. For now, though, she had her dreams, her life knowledge and hints of the past, her growing understanding, and her need for more information; not to worry though, the wigging out and "I did what with who in the where?" would be coming soon enough, relatively speaking.
